Descripción del trabajo

Edit Crew is looking for a full-time, detail-oriented, organized project manager with experience working with video and client communication. We’re a 100% remote company who acts as a reliable partner to agencies and production companies who need videos edited on a consistent basis.

So who is our ideal candidate?

  • An excellent written communicator
  • Fluent in English
  • Enjoys having a similar routine each day
  • Is an independent worker who can troubleshoot their own problems
  • Is an awesome human being (we only work with those around here!)
  • Takes initiative on their own

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Managing our client accounts
  • Managing client expectations
  • Keeping track of many projects and moving pieces at once
  • Experience working with video projects
  • Giving internal revision notes to editors before delivery
  • Overseeing a team of editors and manage their workloads
  • Assisting in onboarding new clients
  • Able to work Monday-Friday 8-5 CST

We’re looking for someone who can manage clients and editors, all while acting as a second set of eyes before delivering videos. This person must have experience working in video, and with client communication.

Our Values

  • Health & relationships are more important than work
  • Always be learning
  • Underpromise, overdeliver
  • Always give them 10% more than they asked for
  • Positivity

How to Apply

  1. Create a Google Doc for your application. Keep it well organized and easy to read
  2. Include the following:
    • Name
    • Email
    • URL to LinkedIn profile
  3. Write a cover letter which sells us on why you deserve this position over anybody else
  4. Use your webcam or cell phone to record a brief videoThis video should:

    • Be 60 seconds or less (not a second longer)
    • As the first word of your video, say “Guava.” For the last word, say “Ciao ciao now.”
    • In the background of the video, play “Hey Ya” by Outkast. This can be playing on a speaker in the background, or added in post-production.
    • In the content of the video, persuade me on why you’re a good fit for the role.
    • Upload the video to Dropbox. If you don’t have an account, create a free one and upload the file there. Add the Dropbox link as the very final line in the Google Doc.
  5. Answer the following scenario questions in the Google Doc
    • Scenario A: It’s Edit Crew’s policy when clients sign up that we work on one project at a time. A client asks if we can start working on a project before their previous one is finished. Their first project is almost finished, and you know this client can be very pushy. From their point of view, it wouldn’t be a big deal to start the next video right now. “It’s only a ten second video!” they say. “It’s just a simple interview clip with b-roll thrown over!” How do you respond?
    • Scenario B: Clients know to leave all revision notes within our video revision tool. Today, this client has decided to leave half of their comments in the revision tool, and the other half as an email directly to you, “because they just remembered some extra stuff.” How do you respond?
    • Scenario C: A client is on our Essentials plan, which promises them 24 hour turnarounds on revisions. They submit revision notes at noon, with this message attached: “Hey, I really need this done ASAP for my client. If I could get it by EOD that’d be great.” How do you respond?
  6. Please provide 2 past employment references including name, phone number, email, and LinkedIn URL.
  7. Provide a link to the best YouTube video you’ve seen in the last 3 months
  8. Send an application to careers@editcrew.coThe subjust line should read “EC Project Manager: YOUR NAME”
The email body should include a link to the Google Doc, and nothing else.
